Case Study of Athlete Skylar Westbrook

Goals

Skylar’s principle goal was to start a caloric deficit to remove some unwanted surplus weight gain of adipose tissue (fat) from her last muscle gaining phase to prepare her for her early august summer vacation to Bali, Indonesian.

Methods

Periodized reduction of calories from the low end of caloric maintenance in comparable stages held until a small plateau in the weight trend data is detected and repeated until the cut off date.

Results

Skylar was highly motivated, disciplined, and experience in the resistance training side of fitness and nutrition. She quick adopted the habits and skills necessary on the nutrition side to sustain an aggressive yet safe caloric deficit phase. Losing 17 pounds of fat total at 2 pounds per week she was satisfied with her achievement. She was able to confidently enjoy her summer vacation to Bali.
